arent! Students (third through sixth grade) at Westmoreland Elementary School, now have an Educational Desktop account powered by Learning Station. Each student has a user name and password to access their desktop through the internet.
The Empowered
Desktop is an innovative statewide portal that consolidates
teaching information, educational resources, learning applications
and Internet content for students in a single-source Web
environment. Kan-ed, a program created by the Kansas Board of
Regents, provides the Empowered Desktop to all Kansas
schools.
In their Learning Station they have Nettrekker; a user friendly
search engine designed just for students, World Book Online,
Homework Kansas, 4 Kids, Yahoo news, NASA photo of the day, and
much more.
A student tried Homework Kansas at home. She said it was easy to
get into and helpful. She didn’t need a Kansas library account
because she can get in through her Learning Station.
Another advantage, students may save websites under their bookmark
list for school projects.
The students may access their account by clicking on the link below
or by going through the www.rockcreekschools.org website.
Have your child show you!
