Welcome back to school and to music class. I hope you had a wonderful summer!
Music teaches you to read, sing, play an instrument, learn foreign languages, decode fractions, pattern, and much more - music stretches your brain and helps you learn! About me: This will be my 16th year at St. George Elementary and 18th year in the Rock Creek School District. I've done more than 35 years of teaching in KS public schools at all levels. My husband and I have two grown & married children and three beautiful grandchildren!
(Janet is the recipient of the 2009 Outstanding Elementary Music Teacher of the Year for NC District of Kansas Music Educators, and Teacher of the Month from Radio Station Q103 in April 2010)
Music Memory-2011 We will be beginning our ninth year of participating in this great music curriculum! Music Memory is a study of 16 pieces of music from Renaissance to 20th Century. We have brought home 1st or 2nd place plaques from the Kansas State Music Memory Competition eight of those nine years. Seven of those years, we brought home a plaque for both 3/4th and 5/6th teams! |
